American Indian economy in Minnesota is an estimated $4 + billion and includes $ 2 billion in income and $2 billion + in residential real estate. They contribute an estimated $250 million annually in state and local taxes. 4000+ American Indian businesses employ over 6000 Minnesotans with an annual payroll of $206 million. There are 40,000 American Indian workers in Minnesota and another 39,000 youth in the educational system or future workforce pipeline. American Indian renters pay $12 million every month in rental payments. The American Indian Cultural Corridor and the American Indian Community Development Corporation and the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association are actively building community wealth in Minnesota. All across Minnesota the rich cultural heritage of American Indians adds vibrancy to our lives.
